Short History: In 1994, Madam. Wong diagnosed with leukemia, After that, she adopted healthy vegetarian lifestyle, then she started cooking for fellow cancer patients, Eventually such an experience she started Chinese Organic Vegetarian restaurant in 1996 called “Ci Yan”. I absolutely like the interior of this
place. I felt, I was in Buddhist Temple.
This Ci Yan an organic vegetarian restaurant on Smith Street has become my favorite, a place to relax over a healthy uncomplicated menu served up by a Mdm. Wong and family. Very Simple menu. The real value is the home cooked fresh food. All natural ingredients, no garlic and exquisite seasonings.
I ordered Brown rice vegetable set, it was very nice. This dish contains corn, long beans, salad, brown rice, Chinese vegetables and a vegetable stew. The vegetables in this dish were perfect not over cooked. Taste was yummy.
Very healthy food. Not expensive too. For those who want to know what real healthy vegetarian food is all about, Visit Ci Yan. It has been around for last 2 decades. Due to overwhelming response, they opened one more outlet in Ang Mo Kio.
